This is a picture representing afghan women who have become politicized against inequality about race and gender. They are revolutionary and they all hold a gun, get together against inequality.
According to Dyer's words "racial judgment", these women are oppressed and this kind of inequility and domestic violence are common in Middle East countries.
Why these women are treated unequally and why tehy become revolutionary Afghani women? In my opinion, these women are poor and lower class. Look at what they wearing and how they looks like. They are all wearing simple clothes and they all looks very poor. I guess that these women experiences domestic violence and perhaps they have no work. They are oppressed too much and they must rised up and fight for their freedom, fairness and rights. The expression in their eyes are unshakable and wishful.
From a political/cultural view, these women are sufferd due to class divides based on wealth, gender, beliefs and so on. They cannot bear unequal rights anymore and set their minds to fight for justice. According to my experience in my daily life, although in current civilized society, there are still some inequality and race or gender discriminations. Like many rich people looks down poor people; a large number of women still have no equal rights compared with men. Another example in my own country China, most women has less welfare than men. If a company wants to dismiss some workers, the first consideration is women, and even women have less pension than men. Some company claims that they just recruit male clerk which shows a complete gender inequality.
Every image is an argument and everyone also has their own opinions which we have talked about in class. Someone may think these women are insurgents and their actions will be punished by government. But I think all these women have their own desire and they are right to persue equility and freedom. All human beings are suppose to have some rights and treated equally no matter what gender, class level, race and religion they are.
