Swimming: worldwide sport

I like swimming and I go swimming every weekend in campus. Swimming has a lot of benefits like body building, lose weight and enhance blood circulation. There are many kinds of swimming styles and free style is my favorite one.

Swimming is a kind of movement through water using our arms and legs. Swimming is a whole body practice and it is an activity that can be both recreational and competitive. Based on science, swimming is one of the best ways to keep health and good stature. It is also a good way to lose weight, according to scientific test, swimming consume 650 kilocalorie per hour which is a lot compared to other sports. That's why swimming is widely got favored by women all over the world. In the picture above, a woman is underwater swimming in a swimming pool. She is breathing and there are a lot of bubbles come out fromm her nose. It is an aerobic exercise and it is contribute to improve Torse Flexibility and heart rate which is good for health. Anyway, swimming is much better than anorexic that mentioned in Bordo's article.

The most aim for women to join swimming is lose weight and keep thin body. That's what we define as docile bodies based on the culture. It is true that thin body for women is most popular accepted stature. Although thin does not means health but it fits modern culture and society. To women's body, it is a pursuit without a terminus that there is always a better body or a goal in one's mind than the actual body right now and different women are also competitive on their body. Not only women like swimming, but also some men prefer it instead of going gym because swimming is one of the best ways to get perfect muscle which is the intelligible body for men. Swimming is a world wide body practice sports, if you like it, just keep going and you will gian perfect body and good health.

  1. Great post! I would agree with your point that some men try swimming instead of going to gyms to work out. I was one of those men who pursued (maybe still do) a perfect body in my past. And I also know some of my friends also had the same idea as mine. However, as we keep on swimming, we gradually found out that it is really a "pursuit without a terminus" that we did not know if we'd reached the highest point of our goal. Therefore I really agree with you about this.
