Getting Yoked!!

Lifting weights is a common body practice pretty much everywhere. There are a couple reasons people do it; to gain muscle, to lose weight, or to tone body parts. The intelligible body for some men is the muscle bound character in the picture. Unfortunately for most moral people this intelligible body cannot be achieved by sweat and broccoli alone. Most power lifters and body builders live in a subculture that has socially constructed an assumption that everyone in the sports are doing steroids, so they are forced or expected to use the substances themselves. This leaves everyone not on steroids stuck in their sad little docile bodies.

Coming from a weight loss point of view it is most definitely a pursuit without terminus. Once you make that decision to first go to the gym either you are stuck doing that for eternity to keep your docile body up to par or you quit and lose everything you may have gained. This is forced upon the general population because on TV and in magazines we see beautiful people who are thin and fit running on treadmills or lifting free weights to stay in shape. These intelligible bodies are impossible to achieve. As we saw in class close to one hundred percent of pictures in magazines are touched up using computer programs such as photo shop.

The praxis of working out has truly become a matter of vanity when the true reason to work out should really be physical fitness and health. Vanity has no true health benefits therefore is not very practical to have in the case of a zombie apocalypse. Also standing in a room lifting the same piece of metal over and over would make aliens scratch their heads and wonder what is wrong with this planet. Those lifting weights to stay healthy are the smartest when it comes to the weight lifters but even that can be a silly thought.
